Xiaomi Mi 5 vs Mi 5S - Which and where to buy

Performances

Unfortunately, however, the optimization offered by Xiaomi is not at the top and the results are lower than those obtained by the Google Pixel that uses the same sensor. In any case, the Mi 5S gets better results than the Mi 5.

It must also be taken into account that the Xiaomi Mi5 has a 4-axis optical stabilizer that allows excellent shooting even in critical movement conditions and although the 5S can count on good digital stabilization, video recording is definitely in favor of Mi5.

Battery

The Xiaomi Mi 5S offers about 200mAh more (3.200 vs 3.000) that although they may seem few, are not negligible and in everyday use are felt mainly thanks to the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 that has highlighted (even in other devices) a better consumption management. In practice this innovation initially did not produce perfect results but then improved with software maturation.

Always in favor of the Mi 5S we have seen the introduction (only in the 4gb / 128gb version) the 3D Touch technology (or force touch) on iPhone. Unfortunately, however, the touch pressure detection is only relegated to some system functions at present and the real potential needs to be expressed.

Against in Mi 5S we saw the infrared sensor disappear dissatisfied with how many people use the phone as a remote control.

Software

Obviously, the Xiaomi Mi 5 has several months of developmental advantage that has already led to a version (beta) of the MIUI based on Android 7 Nougat and a good MIUI Global that is in Beta is Stable include Italian.

The Mi 5S, which currently only has the MIUI Global stable (without Italian) will certainly receive both Italian and the update to Android 7 shortly.
