Xiaomi's rush to Android 10 seems to be going very slowly, a weight that is felt on the shoulders of certain smartphones, which have sold avalanches of units becoming popular among users who have often become fans of the brand following that particular purchase. Although in November 2019, for the Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite, the first beta based on the major release of the green robot had begun, for the device at a global level the defined update is not yet available in a stable form.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite updates, but still no trace of Android 10
In fact, the company in these hours has limited itself to releasing a new update for Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite, which instead of bringing Android 10 is limited to introducing the January 2020 patches, all with a rather substantial update dimension.
As you can see from the image above, with a weight of 594 Mb the security patches of January 2020 are introduced (considering that we are at the end of February) and some more or less important bug fixes, such as the resolution of a problem related to image overlap in scrolling screenshots and a notification settings issue in Second space. A behavior that is angering many users of this device, because if on the one hand the delay and slowdown due to the Covid-19 epidemic is true and understandable, on the other hand, a beta for Mi has been available since November. 9 Lite and therefore Xiaomi had another two months available to release the new OS, before the outbreak of the tragic health events.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite update with the January 2020 security patches we are talking about is being released right now. You should therefore receive an OTA notification on which to click to start the download otherwise if you have not received the notification, you can try to force the update by going to the system update settings and click on the CHECK UPDATES item.
