Display and materials
As already leaked over the last few days, the We are MAX 2 is aesthetically characterized for a search for elegance. A fully metal bodywith the exception of a very narrow upper band made of plastic to prevent signal attenuation, makes the new Xiaomi home phablet truly exclusive. As you can see, in fact, the concept of "plastic band" has been completely revised for the antenna that comes here integrated to perfection both in shapes and in the color of the back cover.
The back is also characterized by the camera position, in perfect Xiaomi Mi 6 style, and for the presence - nowadays - of the sensor for fingerprint recognition which, however, is harmonized within the body.
Instead, we switch to the display. Typical MAX dimension feature: 6.44 inch IPS FULL HD (342 ppi) is now the classic diagonal for this phablet, which, however, presents a great novelty. The frames, or the "black bands around the display", They were indeed reduced from 1.5 mm to 0.7 mm ... and the effect is noticeable here!
Optimization work also with regard to the 'ergonomics which, as Lei Jun asserts, will also ensure a strong hold with one hand!
We conclude this brief overview of the aesthetic of the device, confirming the presence of the infrared sensor (very comfortable!) and the audio jack by 3.5 mm. You will not have to make more headset or bluetooth headset purchases - eh eh!
Battery
So here's the great news on board We are MAX 2! An almost infinite battery. 5300 mAh allow the new Xiaomi phablet to achieve incredible autonomy results! Let's talk about the slide.
Results that, at least on paper, look exceptional. But as we had anticipated yesterday, the new Xiaomi Mi MAX 2 has a new and incredible technology. Its 5300 mAh battery, in fact, can be exploited for also load other devices through OTG.
Of course there is no missing Quick Charge 3.0, to which, alongside, it also has a new technology: the parallel charging in fact, it provides greater efficiency during charging, avoiding heat dispersion through small voltage increases. A kind of hybrid between QC3.0 and QC4.0.
Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, has confirmed that it will be possible to recharge the new Mi MAX 2 up to the 68% in one hour! It's great news with the battery capacity so we can rest assured that in extreme cases where we will have to recharge the device in a hurry and fury, we still have a lot of residual autonomy!

We are therefore looking less looked after on the first generation of Mi MAX. The camera.
The photographic segment was certainly not the strong point of the first Chinese phablet, but this time the story changes. And how! Before talking about specifications and technical features, I leave you some photographic sample (one of which one definitely shot in Italy!) with which you can get an idea of the photographic quality of the new Mi MAX 2.
Well, then Xiaomi Mi MAX 2 it is characterized by a sensor that is identical to the primary sensor of Xiaomi Mi 6, the Sony IMX 386 by 12 Mpx. The novelty in addition to the choice of such a level sensor in itself is to focus on pixel size: in fact it goes from 1.0 µm to 1.25 µm which, together with a Dual Flash LED and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), will guarantee a significant improvement in shots, especially on those in poor light conditions.
Complete the photo compartment, an 5 Megapixel front camera that allows you to record videos in FULL HD (1080p).
But surely we will be able to test it and, as you know, in the coming days, the photo shoots made by the company will first be made public. So we just have to wait and have a bit of patience to actually evaluate the improvements.
Multimedia Subgroup
Within this point we want to deal briefly with what is more than that audio compartment. A compartment has never been developed over smartphones, and that Xiaomi has begun to develop not too long ago. With Mi MAX 2, however, there is a substantial turnaround in part, probably due to the size of the phablet: in fact, stereo audio compartment when it rotates in panoramic mode the device!

Personally I am very curious to discover the audio quality of the new one Xiaomi Mi MAX 2 because, relying solely on the interest shown by the company on this aspect, I can not fail to feel satisfied. But will the results be up to you?
Variants and prices
So we come to the last argument to deal with, perhaps, that is also the most interesting one. Let's talk about the long-awaited processor.
Snapdragon 660 yes or Snapdragon 660 no?
The answer is no. Well, because the new Xiaomi Mi MAX 2 will not have on board the new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but will be powered by Snapdragon 625 processor. A choice that is perhaps questionable but most weighted on consumer issues.
In fact, come to think of it, the new Qualcomm processor would have been a leap into the void since it would not have been possible to carry out effective tests, while I think it is more prudent to focus on an already run-in SoC that still guarantees a very good level of performance. Perhaps the choice of a Qualcomm 600 series jars a little over what could be a top of the range, but remember that the Mi MAX was not born to be a top of the range and therefore the choice of a processor poco energy-intensive is well explained in these terms.
The most attentive will have already guessed the two variants that will be marketed and that differ only for internal memory available. In fact the RAM on board the new Mi MAX 2 will be cut only by 4 GB while it is internal storage (expandable via microSD) can be selected between 64 GB and 128 GB.
Finally the presence of the latest MIUI 8, based on Android 7.1, which will allow users to take advantage of the split screen Android functionality.
We conclude with the prices. It starts with the 1699 yuan (approximately EUR 220) of the 64 GB version of internal memory, to reach the 1999 yuan (approximately EUR 260) for the memory version from 128 GB, both available from the beginning of June.
