The presentation of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has unveiled everything there was to know and confirmed the wonderful OLED display with rounded side edges as in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge but it is inevitable to wonder if Xiaomi will be able to take advantage of this new feature.
The most interesting solutions we have seen in the ZTE Numia Z9 that has been able to implement a series of interactions that facilitate everyday use. It is possible to touch / slide the curved side to activate specific functions made to fully enjoy the two additional sides.
The video we show shows a version of the MIUI8, based on Android 6.0, specifically designed for the Mi Note 2 and has implemented unique features for this type of display. It will be possible to interact with the phone through its curved sides: scrolling from left to right will activate a window that will allow the choice of background; scrolling right to the left, you will access the contacts / stopwatch / calendar / compass etc.
There is still a lot to do to fully exploit this peculiarity of the display, but it reassures us that Xiaomi has already thought of making an MIUI ad hoc for this model.
