A couple of days ago we had it there premature and today it has arrived. Let's talk about the new Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5 ″ 2019 just presented in China, which does not seem to bring big changes compared to the predecessor at least from the design point of view.
The major changes are in fact internal, with a more modern CPU and in the general dimensions of the laptop, now slightly thinner and lighter.

So let's start with the most important change, the new eighth generation Intel Core M3 / i5 CPU which should bring a decisive performance improvement compared to the previous generation. Unfortunately, however, the processor seems to be supported by only 4GB of RAM which most likely will not be expandable in the future, a choice to say the least. poco unreasonable given that in 2019 we think 8GB is the minimum.
As for the internal memory instead, the versions with Intel M3 processor will be available with 128Gb or 256GB of internal memory, while the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5 ″ with Intel Core i5 will be available only in the variant with 256GB of internal memory.
Moving on to the smaller dimensions we mentioned above, the new laptop has a minimum thickness of just 12,9mm and weighs 1,07Kg. Then we have an 12,5 inch screen with 1920 × 1080 resolution and 5,71mm thick edges, a backlit keyboard, full-range Harman speaker and a professional DTS system for clean and powerful sound.
Finally, the handset supports fast charging and can be charged up to 50% in 35 minutes only.
The Xiaomi Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5 ″ will go on sale (in China) on March 28 at the base price of 3599 Yuan (470 €) for the version with Intel Core M3 and 128GB of internal memory, 3999 Yuan (520 €) for the variant with Intel Core M3 and 256GB of memory, while the option with Intel Core i5 and 256GB of storage will cost 4299 Yuan (570 €).
