Even if in Italy we are still a little behind as regards the release of the Mi TVs produced by Xiaomi, the situation is completely opposite in China, a country where Xiaomi Mi TVs continue to dominate the market.
Xiaomi Mi TV dominates in China, first place for six consecutive quarters
Xiaomi has in fact just announced on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter), that according to data revealed by the Aowei Cloud network, in the first half of 2020 shipments of Xiaomi TVs ranked first in China. Result obtained for six consecutive quarters.
In 2019, Xiaomi's shipments and sales volume ranked first in China for the year, with annual shipments reaching 10,46 million units, becoming the first TV brand in the history of the market Chinese with annual shipments of more than 10 million.
Lei Jun, president of Xiaomi Group, said last year: “As the home appliance with the largest screen and the most interactive, TV has naturally become a hub product of AIoT. Xiaomi will use the main home appliances as one of the main puzzles of the project for sustainable development in the next 10 years". So the strategy chosen by Xiaomi seems to work at least for the moment: entering users' homes through the Mi TVs, and then pushing them into a Xiaomi ecosystem. Ecosystem that as we know is more than full of good and cheap products.
For those who missed it, the latest TV presented by Xiaomi in China is the I TV Master. The brand's most premium TV comes with a 65-inch OLED panel capable of playing 4K content with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Mi TV Master also sees the presence of the VRR function, an adaptive update system related to AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync and is powered by a MediaTek processor with four Cortex A73 cores accompanied by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
