Xiaomi Mijia Mosquito Repellent presented, in time for the summer

With the summer behind the doors, Xiaomi has decided to launch a new version of the Xiaomi Mijia Mosquito Repellent that had been a great success last year. As the name suggests, we are talking about a mosquito repellent that works through the use of some chemical agents.

The new Mijia Mosquito Repellent comes in a pack of three and adopts the same design as the past generation, which had won the German iF design award at the brand last year.

Mosquito Repellent uses pyrethroids as a repellent. These substances are broad spectrum wormers, have low toxicity and are highly biodegradable. The repellent emanation then occurs through evaporation and the help of an internal fan. No flames are produced and the repellent is colorless, odorless and does not cause any nuisance.

A single unit of Mijia Mosquito Repellent can chase away mosquitoes from an area of 28 cubic meters, so together with the other two included in the package you can cover an entire house.

As for the duration instead, each top-up actually works for around 720 hours, which means 90 nights if we consider a use of 8 hours a day. During this period the accessory does not create almost any noise, in fact the fan is able to turn producing only 22dB of noise.

Xiaomi has also added a timer that automatically turns off the repellent after 10 hours of use. This timer can be activated as desired by quickly pressing the power button twice. If the timer were not enough, the Chinese giant has also made it known that in the future a version with Bluetooth connectivity will be presented, so that it can be turned off and turned on directly from the Mijia app on your smartphone.

They keep reheating the same soup instead of focusing on some original hi-tech gadget, especially something compatible with Mi Home. The competition is making progress in everything while Xiaomi plays with remakes…. Bad strategy. they are only being saved by the value for money which at the moment seems unbeatable, but how long can it last? What is the point of proposing a 6 version of everything every 7-2.0 months? In the last 2 months they have released duplicates of things already out and seen ... they change the shape, the name, the brand and in the end it knows everything about deja vu with poco appeal.... Read the rest »

On home automation, the competition is called Honeywell (Lyric platform), Philips, D-Link Domoticz (which is open and therefore supports a myriad of non-D-Link devices), Fibaro (which at the moment is a truly excellent, open, compatible solution with Google Home and Alexa and hundreds of other devices from other brands, and also not particularly expensive unlike the other names). That's enough? I'm honestly interested in mosquito repellents poco. I state that I am the first of the customers of xiaomi. I have Gateway and various home automation devices for at least 4 years and I don't regret it. But I find that... Read the rest »
