On August 30, China's Xiaomi Smart Ecosystem account released a preview poster announcing that it will release the Mijia Robot 2 Pro vacuum cleaner tomorrow.

The poster did not reveal what the new product looks like, but pointed out that the new product can make the floor cleaner through chemical reactions. The formula we see in the teaser is in fact a chemical formula "When chlorine gas and water are energized, it will produce hydrochloric acid and what?".
Chlorine and water will generate hydrochloric acid and hypochlorous acid (HCLO) when there is no electricity. Hypochlorous acid is a strong oxidant, a very weak acid, weaker than carbonic acid, but very strong for whitening, its salts can be used as bleaching and disinfectant agents.
Hypochlorous acid is mainly used as a disinfectant and is widely used for the disinfection of contaminated objects such as surfaces and textiles, as well as water, fruit and vegetables, and utensils for food and drinks. In addition to the above uses, hypochlorous acid can also be used for disinfection of indoor air, surfaces of secondary water supply equipment, hands, skin and mucous membranes.
So we just have to find out what kind of substance will be produced when electricity is introduced. Whether hypochlorous acid, oxygen, ozone or whatever.
Regardless of the type of substance generated, it is likely to be related to sterilization and disinfection. This should also be one of the main strengths of Mijia Robot 2 Pro.
Recall that a month ago, on July 26, the Mijia Robot 2 with a retail price of 1599 yuan (210 euros).
Compared to the first generation Mijia robot vacuum cleaner, the second generation has three new functions and two major upgrades. These include: high frequency sonic vibration mop, antibacterial mop, and laser obstacle avoidance system. The two main updates are: suction power increased from 2100Pa to 2800Pa; and the water tank is upgraded from 180ml to 190ml.
As a Pro model, its price should be over 2000 yuan (262 euros).
