In the previous days, some Chinese bloggers have revealed information about the upcoming one Xiaomi MIX Fold 3", which sparked heated discussions among users. Well, today check instead a new patent for foldable screen smartphones requested by Xiaomi.
Xiaomi patents a new foldable: will this be the design of the MIX Fold 3?
The patent excerpt shows that this product is a “telephone with a foldable screen that can be used for mobile communications, cameras, network or multimedia applications, etc”.
But the real key point of the patent is the design. The image shows us that the top half of the phone's screen can be folded back, allowing the front camera to be converted into a rear camera.
But this foldable patent applied for by Xiaomi will be used on the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3"? Well, according to what was previously revealed, the internal screen of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will be equipped with an under-screen camera to achieve a true full-screen design without holes or notches.
In the patent images it is not clear whether these are cameras hidden under the screen. However, as can be seen from the three dots on the display, we should deal with a total of three cameras. We also notice that the thickness of the device seems to be higher than that of the MIX Fold 2.
In any case, given that several leaks suggest the presence of one hidden front camera below the display, this is most likely the final design of the device. As for the patent however, this seems to us less practical than its predecessor.
Recall that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2" adopts a microscopic water drop shape zipper design developed by Xiaomi, the radius of the water drop is 2,1mm, and the thickness of the zipper is only 3,0mm.
