As usual, the evaluations on the shipments of smartphones of all brands arrive every three months. It is no secret that ours Xiaomi is growing. The data of the past months have spoken clearly. But how will it have behaved in general in the last quarter of this catastrophic 2020? According to the data reported by Counterpoint, definitely good. The shipments have arrived beyond expectations and the Chinese giant led by Lei Jun has surpassed competitors that we never thought could surpass. Let's go see some numbers together.
Xiaomi surpasses Apple and Huawei in terms of shipments: the latter is even surpassed with Honor still attached. A hit!
No doubt everyone will know of the split (if we can say so) between Huawei e Honor. The first company, due to the ban imposed by the United States and the old Trump administration had to opt for the sale of Honor. On paper, this company is no longer under the control of Huawei therefore. Here, the data reported by Counterpoint refer to the period prior to division and therefore a very large volume of shipments considering the size of the company.
As we see from the infographic above, Xiaomi ranks third in the Q3 period (October, November and December) in terms of smartphone shipments. But if we look at the numbers, Lei Jun's company owns 13% of the market share while Huawei + Honor together have 14%. This means that if we remove the second company from the lineup, the Chinese giant we are fond of jump to second position, immediately behind (but not with poco waste) and Samsung. It is also important to underline the fact that Apple has been outdated: we know how the bitten apple business went well this year thanks to the presentation of the new iPhone models. In conclusion, a success for close the year with a bang as more shipping means more revenue, and more revenue means more research (hopefully).
