The Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi is not new in the production of bizarre gadgets, at least for us Westerners, but the one presented today probably beats them all. Our favorite brand has indeed just announced the start of a crowdfunding campaign for the Xiaomi PMA Hand Massager.
What is it about? Well as the English name suggests, we are talking about a hand massager, which can also massage the wrist.
Xiaomi PMA Hand Massager presented, goodbye carpal tunnel?
The accessory has been designed for those who spend a lot of time at the PC, either by writing or using the mouse. As some of you may know this can cause various problems in the hand and wrist, the most famous and widespread disease is perhaps that of carpal tunnel syndrome. This masseur, in theory, should mitigate the problems caused by the disease, if not extinguish them completely.
From an aesthetic point of view, the Xiaomi PMA Hand Massager adopts a semi-cylindrical shape with a hollow part. This design allows the entry of the hand and part of the forearm into a cavity filled by small multilayer airbags. The airbags then year hundreds of small bumps to massage the fingers, palms and wrists. The process should then relax the hand muscles after about 7-8 use cycles.
Xiaomi announces that the force applied by this device can almost faithfully simulate a hand-made massage, with the same effect as when stretching several times.
Moreover, thanks to the use of heated graphene, the heat is evenly distributed over the entire surface. Specifically they are released by the 6 to the 10um of infrared waves. This IR light beam is known for its therapeutic properties, managing to relax the muscles and increase the comfort of the massage.
The massager has two modes of use and three power options. Also, when massaging a different part of the hand, a message will pop up on the touchscreen. To start the massage, just press a simple button, so almost anyone will be able to use it, such as the elderly.
The total measurements of the PMA Hand Massager are 310 x 158 x 112 mm, for a weight of 1Kg. The device can be used wirelessly as it equips an 2000mAh battery for about three hours of use, while recharging takes place through the modern USB Type-C port on the left side.
The Xiaomi PMA Hand Massager is the 353esimo produced in the crowdfunding campaign on the official Xiaomi website. It can be booked now (in China) for only 299 Yuan (38 €), instead of the final price of 399 Yuan (50 €).
