Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus - Live presentation event

Good morning to all friends, this 2017 is ending and if we thought we had already seen everything from the smartphone market, we were wrong. This year's trend was definitely to bring on the various devices a large screen but without increasing the final ones of the device. We have studied and adopted various solutions to reduce the frames that generally however incorporate the front camera and the various sensors, but also the headset, in short, an operation not really easy to realize.

Having said that today 7 December Xiaomi adds to the Redmi family, two new elements, such as the Redmi 5 and the Redmi 5 Plus, both equipped with the MIUI 9 interface. Main features leaked in the network are just a full 18 display: 9, a battery with a good capacity and a LED flash for perfect selfies. But let's start immediately with a series of photos showing us the colors in which the two new members of the Redmi family will be presented.

The presentation goes straight to the point, without any twist and the two new smartphones are revealed. The Redmi 5 comes with a 5,7-inch display while the Redmi Plus adopts a 5,99-inch screen. Difference in a certain sense minimal but the grip and the touch and feel will probably go in favor of the Redmi 5 with smaller display even if the rounded lines and the 18: 9 ratio should not create problems even for the bigger brother, the Redmi 5 Plus.

The Redmi 5 / 5 Plus are also characterized by a design with rounded lines, designed by creating a perfect symmetry between the elements such as the rear camera, the fingerprint sensor, the company logo and the input for charging that at his time is inserted in the middle of a grid corresponding to the speaker and the main microphone. Very soft lines but above all elegant and thin, making the use of just one hand very comfortable.

But what are the real benefits of having a display with 18: 9 report? Undoubtedly the aspects that we are meeting with a smartphone are multimedia, such as the use of video but also gaming. Xiaomi compares its 5 Plus with the iPhone 8 Plus showing us first how the Chinese device with the same screen is less cumbersome both in height and in width, and then shows us how an 18: 9 display offers more details and a vision wider.

The Achilles heel of mid-range (but sometimes also top-of-the-range) devices is the photographic rendering. We often spend hundreds and hundreds of euros for the purchase of a smartphone which unfortunately disappoints us when we go to take a photo or a video. The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus promise instead to capture breathtaking images thanks to the size of the 1,25 μm pixel sensor, moreover the LED flash positioned next to the front camera will emit a powerful but at the same time soft light, able to give really selfies unique even in low light conditions. And judging by the photos presented during the event, the promises seem to have been kept. Finally, the integrated Beautify 3.0 software allows you to improve the natural beauty of the face while always preserving its details.

But a good device would be nothing if it were not powered by a reliable processor and in the case of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 we will find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 CPU under the hood while for the Redmi 5 Plus we will have the Snapdragon 625 supplied. Both processors are of type octa-core with the use of advanced production technology at 14nm FinFET which allows to improve the overall battery life. In addition, Redmi 5/5 Plus will be equipped with the recent MIUI 9 interface which integrates the booster mode for the game, capable of drastically increasing performance even for more complex titles, a feature to try absolutely.

Yeah, the battery or rather the effective duration is another Achilles heel of all the smartphones belonging to each category, except for the battery phone. In fact, Xiaomi especially with the Redmi series has never disappointed us and has always shown an optimization of the software that combined with the hardware proposed on the device, did perform the battery in an excellent way. For the Redmi 5 Plus the Chinese company has provided a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh able to reach a range up to 17 days in standby. In practice we will get to use our smartphone up to 2 consecutive days, while the Redmi 5 has been scheduled to adopt a battery from 3300 mAh that promises to get up to 12 days in standby.

Now we show you a small video presentation of the two new Xiaomi Redmi 5 / 5 Plus devices.

Xiaomi has always taken care of its devices regardless of the final price to which it was proposed, and also for the two new members of the Redmi family, the company has designed a design with very rounded and rounded corners, made specifically to reduce the risk of damage caused as a result of the force exerted on a single point, in order to distribute the same on a larger surface. But if that were not enough in the package for the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus a TPU case will be provided. But the prices? Xiaomi likes to get involved and so compares its two new devices directly with Huawei Mate 10, OPPO R11s, Honor V10 and Honor 7X, and will show off for the Redmi 5 a price starting from 799 yuan, equivalent to about 102 euro for the version from 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, 899 yuan (115 euro) for the version from 3 / 32 GB. The 5 Plus instead will be offered at the price of 999 yuan (128 euro) for the version from 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory and finally 1299 yuan (166 euro) version from 4 / 64 GB.

Here are the highlights of the two new Redmi 5 / 5Plus smartphones

Nerd, Geek, Netizen, terms that do not belong to me. Simply myself, technology lover and provocative as Xiaomi does with his products. High quality at fair prices, a real provocation for the other most famous brands.
