Xiaomi smartphone certified in China, is it the Redmi Note 8?

A few days ago we reported a new one collaboration among our favorite brand, Xiaomi, and one of the largest mobile chip manufacturers in the world, MediaTek. This collaboration involved the use of the latest CPUs dedicated to gamers produced by MediaTek, namely the Helio G90 and G90T, aboard a Redmi smartphone.

Today, this indiscretion becomes more real thanks to the Chinese media that seem to have found a new Redmi device on the famous smartphone certification site in China (TENAA).

Xiaomi smartphone certified in China, is it the Redmi Note 8?

As we can see in the image above in fact, we have a device produced by Xiaomi with code name M1906G7T. Also according to the Chinese press it would be a Redmi smartphone with MediaTek Helio G90 processor. Which would not surprise us as Redmi's general manager, Lu Weibing, had previously confirmed that the brand was working with the new chip.

The MediaTek Helio G90 is a processor composed of two ARM Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55s with a maximum frequency of 2GHz, while the GPU uses ARM Mali-G76 MC4 technology with an 800MHz clock and integrates a dual-core APU . As for RAM instead, the SoC supports 10GB of LPDDR4X RAM with a maximum frequency of 2133MHz. The power produced by this combination results in an AnTuTu score of over 220 thousand points and up to 1TMACs of AI calculations. In perspective, the processor is slightly more powerful than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 and less powerful than the Huawei Kirin 810.

Right now it's really hard to tell on which Xiaomi series the new CPU will be adopted, but many suggest it may be the next Redmi Note 8. Alternatively Redmi could launch a device dedicated to gamers much cheaper than the gaming phone par excellence, the Black Shark 2 Pro.

Now tell us yours. Would you be interested in a device with the MediaTek Helio G90 / G90T on board? Or do you prefer the usual Snapdragon processor? Let us know in the comments section below!
