Xiaomi thinks of a smartphone that promises 3D photos and videos | Images

The idea of creating a smartphone that is always better from a photographic point of view is one of the points of Xiaomi. However, we all know that focusing only on hardware is not the winning strategy. Although the colossus has joined the Hasselbald for one of the upcoming devices, the thing that really makes the difference is the software. The optimization of the MIUI must reach that of iOS, it is useless to go around it. However, the brand has decided to continue studying (not producing) devices that are increasingly strange and devoted to photography. Let's see the last one.

A Xiaomi smartphone appears with four cameras in the corners: these would allow you to capture photos and videos in 3D

Last month Xiaomi applied for a patent to the World Intellectual Property Office, also known as WIPO. This was only accepted and released three days ago and the LetsGoDigital gives it to us in high definition and in color. In that patent, Xiaomi's idea of smartphone of the future (one of many ideas) is represented as a device with four cameras, one for each corner. We will then go to see why this choice was made. The most interesting thing about this device however is the ability to record videos and take 3D photos.

Let's start from the front: we notice the total absence of holes or notches and this suggests the presence of a camera under the screen or a pop-up mechanism. Another positive point in favor of this device is the flat front panel and without curved edges, diametrically opposite the latest product that Xiaomi has decided to unveil. But the interesting thing that characterizes this device is not so much the front side as the rear. In fact, we see four photographic sensors placed each in a corner. What are they for?

The mobile phone that incorporates the new design can implement the 3D photography or 3D video recording function via the four cameras arranged at the four corners of the back of the mobile phone.

By law this from the patent

Basically these optics would be capable of capture 3D photos and videos. It is not a new thing, other brands have also tried their hand at the same operation in recent years. However, this is a whole new area for Xiaomi. But now let's move on to the crucial question: why are the cameras on the corners? There is no answer, or rather the patent is not reported. But we have an idea: to integrate this type of cameras there is no doubt need a lot of space and only in this way is it possible to create it.

We remind you that it is a patent. This means that it is not sure that the Chinese giant will launch it on the market. Indeed, it is quite certain that it will not.
