Xiaomi confirms the triumvirate with Apple and Samsung

La loyalty of users to Xiaomi continues to reward the company. It was November last year when the Chinese giant announced one of the milestones of its policy: the achievement of 500 millions of active users worldwide. However, if we think that in the last year (or poco minus) this trend has decreased we are very wrong. In fact, according to estimates by Counterpoint Research it seems that the brand has confirmed its position in the chessboard of the technological powers (mobile and not only) of the world. In fact, it comes close to Samsung and Apple in terms of active users.

Xiaomi can count on 500 million users around the world, with dizzying revenues. Together with Samsung and Apple he creates a triumvirate

According to the analytics company Counterpoint Research, there are already more than 500 million smartphone users in the world who have decided to trust Xiaomi. From today, therefore, the company she joined the club that Samsung and Apple already belong to. We jokingly call it the triumvirate telephony, even if the success we are talking about does not only concern this area. It should be noted, however, that this is not a milestone, as it is a transitory phase. Theoretically, Xiaomi's vast user base could further develop the company's presence if the products exceed expectations. For what concern IoT sector the brand is succeeding, even if for the mobile sector users have to complain.

Unfortunately the support of the MIUI often makes users unhappy. Furthermore, the policy of expanding one's portfolios too much could be deleterious given the other companies that already have an endless catalog. Simply put, there is too much competition and it should focus (telephony side) on quality.

In any case 2021 was a very successful year for Xiaomi, with users who have actively purchased smartphones. The success of Xiaomi's global expansion is particularly evident in India and Europe, where it became one of the top three OEMs in the first quarter of 2022. In India, the company leads the market with 23% of the market and in China it ranks fifth.

Il average revenue per user Xiaomi's (ARPU) in China is much higher than in other regional markets. Additionally, the behemoth has an ARPU for smartphone premium higher than that for low-end smartphones. This partly explains the strategic importance of the Chinese segment of the premium smartphone market, even though demand seems weak at the moment. On the contrary, in India the request is mainly for smartphone's medium-low band. According to Xiaomi, beyond the80% of Internet services revenue comes from China, with the main contribution of advertising in its services such as MIUI.
