MediaTek has expandsto its line of Dimensity smartphone processors with two new models. Both are designed for powerful mid-range smartphones with support 5G and they are capable of working with high resolution camera sensors: they are Dimensions 8000 and 8100. Furthermore, the Taiwanese giant has introduced the Dimensity 1300 chip, an updated version of its previous flagship with some modifications. Let's see the details
MediaTek 8000 and 8100 are official and are the next generation smartphone processors. Two all-round mid-range: that's how they are
The 8100nm MediaTek Dimensity 5 architecture includes four cores ARM Cortex-A78 high performance (2.85 GHz), four Cortex-A55 energy efficient (2.0 GHz) e Mali-G610 MC6. The platform is equipped with the image processor Imagiq 780 ISPs, which offers simultaneous HDR video recording from two cameras and HDR10 + movie creation in 4K @ 60 fps. The processor also offers support for 200 megapixel sensors and 2x lossless zoom.

The neural unit 580 . APU is responsible for the AI calculations: according to the specs, it is 2.5 times faster than its predecessor. In addition, the chipset has a 5G 3GPP Release-16 modem with support for 5G Dual SIM Dual Standby and peak downlink performance of 4.7 Gbps. What's new, support for Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E 2 × 2 and Bluetooth LE Audio (Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo).
As anticipated, with the Dimensity 8100 it is also introduced MediaTek Dimensity 8000. This processor has almost the same characteristics as the previous one, but the clock speed of the larger cores is slightly lower (2.75 GHz). Furthermore, the SoC only supports Full HD + displays with update rates up to 168 Hz, while the previous model can also manage panels QHD + at 120 Hz.

It is also manufactured using TSMC's 6nm process and integrates a Cortex-A78 (3.0 GHz), three of the same at 2.6 GHz and four Cortex-A55 smaller (2.0 GHz), plus the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU with support for HyperEngine 5.0 gaming technology. The platform is compatible with cameras from 200 megapixel, supports up to 4GB LPDDR4266X-16 memory and UFS 3.1 drives. The maximum resolution of the display is 2520 x 1080 pixels with a refresh rate of up to 168 Hz. In addition, the SoC supports networks Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and 5G, offering speeds of download up to 4.7 Gbps.
The date of presentation on the market of the first smartphones based on the new MediaTek processors will be announced later.
