Dreame R20 Review of the new DreameTech cordless vacuum cleaner
Several months after the review of the Dreame V12 Pro, I finally tried a new product from the new “R Series,” the Dreame R20 progenitor of this new trend. DreameTech has decided to consolidate the good things it had already proposed with Dreame T30 by making only improvements. Let's see how he performed.

What's in the pack
The packaging he equipment of the dreame is always very generous and also in this R20 there are many accessories but some are missing. We obviously find the classic support for fixing to the wall which also acts as a recharge when the Dreame R20 is at rest and works as a specific housing for all the other accessories:

So the typical hose is missing, replaced by the long ferrule which is also extendable and flexible. Instead, we find two main brushes, designed for different contexts.
The first, the "classic" one is dedicated to floors. It has a soft brush that is ideal for scrubbing floors and a large front slot to allow large dirt to pass through (coffee beans, cereals, etc.).
The second brush is a first for the Dreame, is thought specifically for carpets and rugs. Thanks to its "closed" design, the suction is concentrated downwards and maximized to obtain the best results on difficult surfaces such as carpets. However, it is possible to open a slot to allow even larger dirt to enter. The roller is a rigid type with an embossed V design which has a anti-tangle function, in fact, hair and hair remain raised and can be easily removed. Finally they are present two front lights blue that detect dirt better, especially thanks to the angle designed to reflect on the floor.
As always the accessories are all well made, sturdy and very easy to install both on the long shaft and directly on the machine body.
Dreame R20 – Technical characteristics
In the Dreame R20 we find the engine Dream Space 5.0 brushless 570W 150.000g/m that can produce a suction power of 190AW and a pressure of 27.000Pa. Very high values, superior to most of the competition.

In the R20 model the operation has been simplified with the use of only two operating modes.
La mode automatic which works very well: the sensor integrated in the machine body detects dirt every half second and adjusts the power and speed of the roller in just a few seconds. There ability to react quickly is crucial to make this mode really useful and effective, which is essentially the one you will use 99% of the time because it optimizes power and autonomy.
Then there is the TURBO mode is the one that releases all the power and useful for solving some "troubles" or for passing under the table after eating. The autonomy of drastically reduces is therefore only useful for a short period of time XXX
This sensor is independent of the mounted accessory and it is therefore possible to use the adaptive mode in all situations and not only with the main brush as for example in the Dreame T20. Indeed in this model automatic mode is always available.
We also find the convenient removable and replaceable battery which is from 2.900mAh recharges in 4 hours and guarantees a maximum autonomy of 90 minutes in AUTO and only 7.5 minutes in Turbo mode. Removing it is an easy operation to perform and allows you to alternate a possible spare battery doubling the autonomy. The additional battery can be recharged at the same time to the vacuum cleaner using the appropriate upper compartment. Furthermore, this feature extends the average life of the product since the battery is the first element that wears out.
Smart display
The Dreame R20 obviously does not lack a display capable of assisting us during cleaning operations. Beyond the percentage of remaining battery, the display shows a drawing that is gray and static in turbo mode but that in automatic mode lights up in two different colors (green and red) to give more visible feedback about the dirt the vacuum cleaner has detected.
The display also takes care ofinform us when the filter needs to be cleaned or if this has been mounted incorrectly. It also informs us in case of anomalies such as high temperature, blocked brush or blocked channel.
A display that is certainly minimal but which lacks none of the fundamental information.
Above and below the display we find buttons to switch between cleaning modes and that for activate continuous mode which allows you to vacuum without having to hold the trigger.
Performances
On performance there is poco to say, 27.000 pascals are really a lot and offer an experience now similar to that of canister vacuum cleaners. The decision to supply two different brushes for different contexts optimizes performance with always top results.

In this new mid-range this year, we find all the characteristics of the top of the range last year with two improved brushes but with a simplified display.
Practical, robust, powerful, it is a product that satisfies from all points of view and that simplifies your life a lot.
