Just two days ago we reported the words of the president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing, about the fact that it is Xiaomi that Redmi will not go to use MediaTek's Dimensity 800 chip as it is an already obsolete product compared to the Dimensity 820 that we find on board the latest Redmi 10X 5G. To what Lu Weibing said, we can now add a new leak which instead suggests the launch of a device powered by an even more powerful MediaTek chip, the Dimensity 1000+.
Leak: New smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ close to launch
The leak comes from the well-known blogger Digital Chat Station, who on the social Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) has revealed the forthcoming launch of a Xiaomi smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 1000+. Specifically, it is very likely that it is a terminal branded Redmi, both for the presence of a MediaTek chip and for the rumors leaked about a month ago.
In fact, there is already a device with the model name "M2006J10C" which in the previous days was caught on the 3C certification site. This smartphone would adopt a 33W (11V3A) fast charge and would be equipped with the same charger as the Redmi K30 Pro (Poco F2 Pro in its global version).
So we could be dealing with a new medium-high range Redmi that would equip one of the most interesting chipsets on the market. The Dimensity 1000+ is based on a 7nm manufacturing process, uses the ARM Cortex A77 architecture with eight cores and a maximum frequency of 2,6 GHz. There is also an APU 3.0 that greatly improves the computing power for AI and allowed the chip to score over 530.000 points on AnTuTu. Furthermore, the Dimensity 1000+ is the first processor with Cortex A77 and integrated 5G modem.
Among other specifications we should find a single hole LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. While the fingerprint sensor will be positioned laterally as on the Redmi K30 5G.
