A bit like an open lightning bolt this morning we found out that on the well-known site Geekbench, dedicated to the benchmarks of mobile devices, there is a new smartphone that has left us a bit 'of stucco: it appeared in fact the Pocophone F2 under the name "POCO F2" with the related single and multi core scores. This "appearance" sounds a bit strange after the official Twitter account on Christmas Eve POCO India had announced the arrival of a new model, turned out to be the Armored Edition of the F1. False alarm or new device coming?
Appears Pocophone F2 on Geekbench: dream or reality?
Precisely with these images POCO India December 24 announced the arrival of a new model that would go to support the already present flagship killer Pocophone F1.
Actually the new version announced was none other than the one provided with Kevlar back, Or the Armored Edition. And for us the speech ended there ... but the fact is that this morning on Geekbench a new device appeared under the name POCO F2. In terms of configuration, this smartphone would use, according to data provided by the site, the Snapdragon 845 SoC from Pocophone F1, assisted by 6 GB of RAM and Android 9 Pie operating system. So from the hardware point of view really no difference with the previous model presented in the middle of the year. Il Pocophone F2 also presents a single-core score of 2321 it's a multi-core score of 7564.
Other information on this smartphone are not currently available but as we see from the general information provided by Geekbench the new device registered Pocophone F2 does not seem equipped with the new Snapdragon 855 platform. However it's more than understandable: at the moment there is no device on the market that mounts the SoC Snapdragon 855 and from what we know, to date they are just Xiaomi and Lenovo what are they doing the race a who will mount it first on their devices. We can hypothesize that the improvements made to the Pocophone F2, since it is equipped with the same hardware components, they will cover the display and the battery or maybe even the large notch: it is in fact going crazy the fashion of "gotch", or the notch-shaped water drop as we have seen with the Xiaomi play, first Xiaomi home device equipped with this feature.
Personally I think that to release a device (or even the leak) after only six months from the launch of the previous model, for a device advertised as a flagship killer, both as a hoe on the feet. However, it is true that it was not announced but only presented on an official website. We'll see.
