Realme GT5 Pro and Realme 12 will both have a periscope telephoto lens

Realme, the smartphone brand, held a meeting on imaging technology today Realme Super Core, in collaboration with Qualcomm and ArcSoft, two major companies in the field of artificial intelligence chips and algorithms. The objective of the meeting was to present the first Super Core telephoto imaging system, the result of the synergy between the three parties, which allowed the optimization of the optical hardware, the chip's computing power and the imaging algorithms, bringing the telephoto to a new level of quality.

During the meeting, Realme officially announced that the realme gt5 pro, its next high-end smartphone, will be equipped with the Sony IMX890 sensor, with an ultra-bright periscope telephoto lens, jointly calibrated by the three parts. This is an ultra-high specification lens at the main camera level, which will challenge the telephoto lens with the best light sensitivity in the industry.

Il Sony IMX890 is a 1/1.56 inch sensor, with an area that is 89% larger than the Ominivision OV64B sensor and 143% larger than the Samsung JN1. It also has an aperture of F/2.6, supports it 3x optical zoom and OIS+EIS stabilization. It is also equipped with omnidirectional focusing technology, which guarantees fast and precise focusing.

The Realme GT5 Pro makes the most of the potential of the IMX890 sensor, supporting 4-in-1 multi-pixel fusion technology, which allows you to get a super large single pixel of 2μm. In this way, the light sensitivity of the telephoto lens increases by 215% compared to ordinary vertical telephoto lenses, making the Realme GT5 Pro capable of taking telephoto photos even in low light conditions, with rich and complete details, clear highlights and shadows, and without fear of zooming in.

The Realme GT5 Pro not only takes advantage of the IMX890 sensor, but also the third generation Snapdragon 8 chip, which forms a telephoto combination with the sensor that is unprecedented in the sector. Realme has done in-depth calibration with Qualcomm, launching a heterogeneous computing framework for Super Core imaging, which increases frame processing speed by 44%, reduces image power consumption by 10%, and supports multi-synthesis frames up to 13 frames, greatly improving image quality.

Furthermore, the Realme GT5 Pro supports for the first time DOL-HDR technology to the telephoto lens, which through a new 2×6+1 multi-frame optimization strategy, improves the tolerance and dynamic range of the image, making the image purer and more realistic. Furthermore, since DOL-HDR shoots two frames with different exposures at the same time for each shot, even when shooting moving objects at high speed, you can get enough exposure information to synthesize high-dynamic HDR photos, enhancing the effect ending of the movie.

Realme has also achieved one in-depth cooperation with ArcSoft Technology, the world's leading computer vision artificial intelligence company, to calibrate and launch the ultra-light and shadow telephoto imaging engine, which further improves the telephoto image quality limit by the three dimensions of AI semantic perception, quality improvement of the image and calculation of light and shadow.

Realme said it has achieved the deepest cooperation in history with Qualcomm and ArcSoft, opening up all-round calibration of chips, sensors and algorithms for the first time. By going deep into the underlying image architecture, it achieved ultra-high image quality and ultra-high quality telephoto. Comprehensive upgrades in super performance, super-optimal algorithms and super-core imaging, leading to a new turning point in telephoto imaging.

But the surprises aren't over, because Realme also announced that the Realme 12 series, its mid-range smartphone series, will be equipped with an OV64B periscope telephoto lens, realizing the popularization of the telephoto lens. The OV64B sensor has a 1/2-inch base, an aperture of F/3.4, supports 5x optical zoom and OIS stabilization. It is capable of taking telephoto photos with a resolution of 64 megapixels and reaching 20x hybrid zoom and 60x digital zoom.

The Realme 12 series will therefore be the first mid-range smartphone series to be equipped with a periscope telephoto lens, offering users the ability to capture distant scenes with high quality and optimal stability.
