Without too much fanfare, today the Nubia-owned brand dedicated to gaming, Red Magic, launched the Red magic 9 pro also on a global level; let's find out more.
Official Red Magic 9 Pro global: the definitive gaming phone costs less than 700 euros
Let's start with the design of the device which is available in three colors: Sleet, Snowfall and Cyclone. The latter has a transparent effect that allows a glimpse of the processor and the cooling system.
The Red Magic 9 Pro comes with one 6,8 inch flexible AMOLED screen with 2480*1116 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 93,7% screen-to-body ratio. The screen uses the BOE Q9+ base material, with a peak brightness of 1600nit, a color depth of 10-bit and a detail resolution increased by 30%. The screen also supports 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and DC dimming.
The smartphone is powered by the processor Snapdragon 8 Gen3. The processor is paired with a combination of LPDDR5X memory and UFS4.0 storage. The cooling system is composed of a VC 10.000 mm3, an alloy fan and a cascade air duct, which avoid performance degradation due to overheating.
The Red Magic 9 Pro got a score of 2.291.328 on AnTuTu at room temperature and 2.321.054 in the laboratory. Furthermore, the device also comes with the Red Core R2 Pro, a software developed by Red Magic to optimize performance and gaming experience. The software includes 520Hz touch shoulder keys, with 20% increased sensitivity. We then find a vibration motor increased by 30% and two 1115K speakers. They also support 5G dual-band Wi-Fi, the headphone jack from 3,5 mm and 3 microphones.
As regards autonomy, the gaming phone is equipped with one battery 6500mAh and 80W fast charging, which allows you to charge the device to 100% in 35 minutes.
Finally, as regards the photographic sector, the Red Magic 9 Pro has one 50 megapixel super-sensitive main camera with OIS optical stabilization, one 50 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and 2 megapixel macro camera. In front there is a 16MP camera hidden under the screen.
Prices and availability
The device in the color Sleet with 12GB RAM+256GB storage is priced at 649 euros, while the Snowfall and Cyclone options are equipped with 16GB RAM+512GB storage, both at the price of 799 euros. The devices will be available on Official site starting January 3, 2024.
