After seeing the Redmi 10A appear on the well-known benchmarking platform Geekbench, today the smartphone was caught on the database of the SAR certification body FCC. According to the source, the device will actually be an optimized version of the Redmi 9A launched way back in 2020 and not a completely new smartphone.
Redmi 10A certified by the FCC, it will be an upgrade of the Redmi 9A
In any case, the certification shows us quite clearly that the Redmi 10A (220233L2G) is a variant of the Redmi 9A (M2006C3LG) and the differences between the Redmi 9A and 10A are mentioned.
Specifically, it is shown that the new smartphone will come with a dual 13MP + 2MP camera instead of a single 13MP sensor. Furthermore, it will be equipped with a fingerprint sensor probably positioned on the back, a sensor that is missing on the previous Redmi 9A.
As for the memory configurations, the new variant will be available with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of memory in addition to the version with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of memory already on the market. So in total we will have the options: 2GB + 32GB, 3GB + 32GB, 3GB + 64GB, 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB.
Going to the other specifications, according to the Geekbench leak we mentioned earlier, we already know that the next Redmi 10A will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 chipset, therefore the same as the Redmi 9A.
This means that the 9A's successor will only see updates in the camera compartment with the addition of a second 2 MP sensor likely to take pictures with the blur effect, a fingerprint sensor and more variants of RAM and internal memory.
Finally, as for the future release date, from the SAR FCC certification we can guess that the smartphone will be launched in February.
