TENGOO HZ-23, the self-heating jacket with 23 zones – Review
We tried the new TENGOO HZ-23 self-heating jacket, from the brand that has already presented several products on YouPin, Xiaomi's crowdfunding. The HZ-23 is proposed as an economical but well-made garment, to combat the severe cold at a very attractive price.

Sporty and practical design
Made nylon with natural cotton padding and windproof and waterproof treatment. It is soft and has a sporty design that adapts to any style on any occasion.
It is only available in black with sizes starting from Small up to 5 XL, with two sizes at a time (S/M, L/XL, 2XL/3XL, 4XL/5XL). In fact each size can be extended to the next thanks to the comfortable zips on both sides and which follow the entire length of the jacket. This feature allows us to adapt it depending on what we wear underneath.
There are three pockets available: two external at hand height and a large internal one where the power bank can also be housed. The hood can be removed with a zip.
The jacket can be machine washed at 30° after removing the power bank.
Jacket with self-heating function
The most interesting feature is certainly the ability to generate heat independently via a power bank (not included) which powers well 23 zone of the jacket.
These 23 zones are grouped into 4 areas that can be activated independentlye:
- 8 at the front
- 8 in the rear
- 4 up the sleeves
- 3 on the neck
In fact, they are at heart level 4 rubber buttons that allow us to control and turn on just the area we need also choosing between the 3 power levels available. Furthermore the buttons light up to signal its status through three colours: red, white, purple. This greatly benefits comfort and autonomy.
Heat patches come powered by one Powerbank which must be connected to the internal socket, the classic USB for 5V 2.1A power banks or the DC socket for 7.4V 3A ones.
There is no shortage of protection circuits with a triple heat safety control.

The TENGOO HZ-23 self-heating jacket is a practical garment that can be used both with casual clothing and for outdoor sports. The self-heating function makes it particularly suitable for harsh weather conditions or for those who do winter sports. But it is also useful for traveling by motorbike and scooter during the winter.
Considering the price, I expected a low quality product, but instead it is a pleasant garment with good finishes that make it stand out definitely better than the many alternatives now available online.
The heating function works very well: the areas heat up very quickly and maintain a constant temperature automatically. Overall the jacket is already very warm on its own and it is therefore sufficient to turn it on poco time to obtain constant heat over time.
