Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2 – The scrubber that washes better even without detergent
I tried the Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2, the older sister of the Tineco Floor One S5 which I have already reviewed to which, however, some interesting improvements have been made that make it one of the best alternatives on the market in terms of quality / price ratio.

Design
Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2 is aesthetically identical to Tineco Floor One S5, size 110 x 27 x 25 cm and weighs 4,5 kg when the water tanks are empty. The charging base instead measures 31 x 30 cm, including the supports for housing the accessories.
The equipment in the package is as always rich and consists of:

I tanks, unlike most of the competitor's products, they are positioned vertically: the dirty water one is frontal and has a capacity of 0,7 litres; the one for clean water is positioned at the rear and has a capacity of 0,8 litres. This arrangement offers a slimmer design while maintaining a large liquid capacity.
When the dirty water tank is full, the appliance switches off and the voice assistant prompts you to empty it. Similarly, when the clean water tank needs to be refilled, the voice assistant prompts you to do so, but it doesn't automatically turn off.
On the upper part of the main body of the vacuum cleaner, there is a great display which is one of upgrade compared to Tineco Floor One S5. It is in fact a Very bright and high quality LCD that shows through animations, all the information you need: the remaining battery, the mode in use, as well as warnings that light up in case of problems such as when it is necessary to empty the dirty water tank or when it is necessary to run the self-cleaning programme. A ring of light around the edge of the screen changes color depending on the level of dirt detected. It is red when the robot detects a high level of dirt and turns blue when the floor is clean again.
The switch on/off switch is located on the comfort handle and next to it is a button to switch between automatic mode and maximum mode, with the self-cleaning button on the top of the handle.
The Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2 it is equipped with a single 23 cm roller, very easy to extract and wash, which on the right side is almost completely flush with the wall, allowing us to perform deep cleaning even in the corners. Also yes tilts up to 142 ° allowing us to get under most of the furniture.
How does it clean Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2?
Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2 has four modes of operation:

In AUTO mode, the iLoop sensor recognizes the amount of dirt automatically going to adjust the power and the water flow according to the needs. The sensor works very well and reacts very quickly to the variations in dirt it encounters. In addition the display shows a ring that progressively changes from blue to red to signal the increased cleaning intensity.
The clean water, mixed with the detergent, is sent to a roller which performs a friction on the floor capable of removing most of the stains right from the first pass. At the same time, the resulting dirt is sucked up and deposited in the front tank.
The AUTO mode is really very efficient and guarantees greater autonomy both for the battery (about 35 minutes) and for the water. In general it is the mode that I use most often.
La MAX mode is suitable for more complicated situations such as when there are older stains that have dried on the floor. There roller speed, suction power and water flow are pushed to the maximum to increase the cleaning capacity obviously at the expense of autonomy.
La ULTRA mode it's a exclusive right of this model and is one of the features that distinguishes it from the Tineco Floor One S5. In this mode the water is electrolysed in 30 seconds, generating small amounts of chlorine they have a disinfectant function without the need to use added detergents. This process is very convenient and reduces the environmental impact as it allows us to do without additional detergents.
On the daily dirt of the tiles, the Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2 performs very well and manages to remove any residue with a single pass. Even in the case of large quantities of liquid (e.g. wine or coffee), but also dense substances such as barbeque sauce, it performed very well, removing all the first hit. Only on the old dirt it was necessary to go over several times or use the MAX mode.
Automatic cleaning of the roller
Once back on the charging base, scan the level of dirt on the brush roll and eventually Tineco will ask you to perform automatic cleaning. Cleaning takes about two minutes in which the water is electrolysed as in the ULTRA mode to break down any bacterial load. It's a fully automatic process and you just have to wait for it to finish and then empty the dirty water tank.
The base obviously also takes care of recharging which takes about 4 hours to reach 100%, therefore even less than the 4/5 hours suggested by the house. With a full charge it is possible to reach 35 minutes of autonomy in automatic mode, a value that can therefore vary according to the amount of dirt it encounters. In Max mode I did not exceed 27 minutes, which is still a considerable value.
Also considering the large tanks, we can face even an extended washing session, without having to worry about being interrupted.
Use and maintenance
The water tank is easy to fill and since only one cap of cleaning liquid is needed, the 500ml one supplied in the package it will last for several cleanings. The vacuum cleaner always starts in automatic mode, even if the max mode was used the last time. The low weight makes it really manageable even in tight curves, moreover the roller has a towing effect that lightens its thrust.
La maintenance is very easy: just lift the lid at the top and unhook the lateral attachment of the roller which is magnetic. In the package there is included a spare roller so you can alternate them when you want to wash the one in use. It also comes with a brush for cleaning the short length of hose between the roller and the dirty water tank, but is useful for cleaning the tanks as well. Included in the package is a replacement filter as well as a package of cleaning solution.
The new, more capacious tanks are felt, in the automatic mode that manages the flows optimally, I was able to wash for 15 minutes without interruption. The maximum mode is definitely more expensive and I had half the performance.
Companion app
Tineco makes available its great app also for this product, even if the added value is very limited.
The functions for which the app is strictly necessary are, the firmware update and the choice of language / volume of voice feedback.

Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2 – Conclusions and Price
Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2 it is undoubtedly a high-end product, the result of the company's extensive experience. In this version the addition of the drying/vacuum mode is innovative ULTRA mode they are additions that are worth the difference in price.
In general, it is a product that greatly simplifies daily cleaning and does not make you regret the mop or rag.
