Although WiFi 6 technology is becoming increasingly popular, also thanks to Xiaomi which has already presented two router of this type, for most users routers with WiFi 5 can still meet the needs of daily use and, given the maturity of the technology, they often come with a cheaper price.
Xiaomi Mi Router 4 Pro presented: 199 Yuan Dual-Band Gigabit WiFi (€ 25)
For this reason too, Xiaomi today presented a new WiFi 5 router on its official store in China. The new device is called Xiaomi Mi Router 4 Pro and will be sold at the price of 199 yuan, or about 25 euros. A very competitive price if we consider that the Mi Router 4 released in May 2018 had come out with the exact same price.
On the Mi Router 4 Pro, however, we find very interesting updates starting from the design with rounded edges and a total of 5 independent high-performance signal amplifiers. These five amplifiers allow the router to reach a minimum wireless speed of 1167 Mbps and a maximum of 1317 Mbps. With the 2,4 GHz band it supports the 3 x 3 standard for a theoretical maximum speed of 450 Mbps.
In particular, the 2,4 GHz band and the 5 GHz band are provided with 3 and 2 signal amplifiers (PA + LNA) respectively. Thanks to this combination it will be possible to obtain a greater transmission distance of the router signal, stronger through the walls and therefore facilitating a wide coverage of the house. We also specify that with PA we mean the power amplifier, which therefore increases the transmission power of the signal and with LNA we mean the amplifier with low noise that can improve the sensitivity of reception of the signal.
As for the other specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Router 3 pro is equipped with a Qualcomm processor, supports the Gigabit Ethernet standard, dual-band Gigabit Wi-Fi data forwarding, offers 1 Gigabit WAN port and 3 Gigabit LAN ports. The internal RAM is 128 MB for supporting up to 128 devices simultaneously and at the same time having a stable connection.
