A really crazy experiment left the fans of the Xiaomi brand amazed. In particular, some users have tried to test the goodness of the heart rate monitor integrated into the Xiaomi Mi Band 3, trying to make measurements on a roll of toilet paper. And believe it or not, the result was disappointing, since the small wearable dedicated to fitness has recorded well 71 pulsations. So there are two things: either the toilet paper used has its own living and above all sporting soul or the Mi Band 3 has a big problem linked to the heart rate sensor.

Unfortunately, the second hypothesis is the real one, in fact, not believing what appeared on the net, I tried to carry out tests myself, with a handkerchief and a roll of toilet paper, obtaining the same and unpleasant results. The thing is very strange as most of the fitness bands, including our Xiaomi Mi Band 3, use a light that traces our blood, illuminating the capillaries with an LED, while an adjacent sensor measures the passage by returning the number of beats (sorry for the brief explanation poco technique) per minute, better known as BPM.

The same users have also posted photos that show that the problem is not generalized to all smartbands. Indeed in the image poco above another device it does not detect any heartbeat (and thank goodness), but above all it should be noted that the offending photo refers to the Xiaomi Hey + which offers a color display. The company has not yet expressed itself on the matter but probably not all models have this defect which to tell the truth does not always occur.
