On the Xiaomi crowdfunding platform, a somewhat interesting new product has just been presented for fans of Chinese culture. In fact, we are talking about a smartwatch dedicated to the Forbidden City, or the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties and located in the center of Beijing.

The smartwatch produced by Mobvoi is added to the series of devices dedicated to the forbidden city such as the bluetooth headphones and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3.
In any case, back to the specs themselves. The Mobvoi TicWatch Forbidden City Edition comes with a 1,3-inch diagonal OLED display, with a resolution of 360 x 360, a 71% screen to body and very vivid colors. The case was created using 316L stainless steel, using high-precision forging and carving technology to show off a classic and modern look at the same time.
Turning to the strap, this uses a leather material imported from Italy. The straps are available in black and green color, i.e. the color used for the tiles inside the building and associated with wood and therefore with growth. While the watch faces have been designed specifically for this special edition and there are a total of four.
Obviously there are also the various functions of a smartwatch, especially given that it runs with Google's WearOS. We find applications installed by default such as WeChat, QQ, Keep and Netease Cloud Music, as well as the AI assistant to ask for info on the weather, navigation, find a restaurant and even call a taxi.
Once connected to the smartphone, you can then receive notifications directly on the smartwatch, which activates the screen automatically once the wrist is raised. The device then has a module to make electronic payments easily, but also the function to pay by scanning a code. This technology is supported by Chinese apps like WeChat and Alipay.
Among other specifications we have a case size of 42.8mm for a weight of 53.2 grams. We then have 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, Bluetooth to version 4.1 / BLE, 2.4Ghz WiFi connectivity, a 400mAh battery and IP68 waterproofing.
Finally, as regards the navigation system, the brand states that it is very precise and able to accompany us in real time whatever our destination is.
The Mobvoi TicWatch Forbidden City Edition is now on sale in the crowdfunding campaign for 1299 Yuan, or about 166 euros at the current exchange rate.
Does it have advanced health functions?
We must refer to the specifications of the TicWatch C2, as it is a special edition of that smartwatch. In any case, it will be very difficult to find in our opinion.
