Winter is approaching and Xiaomi is aware of it. So here are two new gadgets, now in crowdfunding on the official website of the Chinese giant, which will surely help to improve the cold days coming. Let's talk about the new Cottonsmith Smart Down Jacket and the 17PIN Warm Star Cup thermos. Curious? Then let's go and discover them together!
Cottonsmith down jacket Smart Down Jacket and thermos 17PIN Warm Star Cup, goodbye cold
Let's start with the down smart produced by the Cottonsmith brand, which in addition to warming us like a common down jacket, is also intelligent thanks to the different features we find on board.
The duvet is equipped with a graphene nanotube heating film both on the abdomen and on the back, we then have a double switch on the front to independently control the sections to be heated. Inside there is instead a hexagonal honeycomb structure, which supports water washing without problems.
To activate the heating function, simply connect a power bank to the USB socket and press one of the buttons on the chest, Xiaomi states that the heating is almost instantaneous (specifically, 1 second). The configurable temperatures are different, ranging from a minimum of 38 degrees with the button that will have a white color, to 43 degrees it will turn green, then we have purple when configured to 48 degrees and red for the maximum temperature of 53 degrees Celsius. So we can adjust the heating based on the outside temperature, while the electrothermal conversion efficiency is of 99%.
Furthermore, the pocket where we will put the power bank is divided into two sections, one for the power bank and the other to be used as a normal pocket, therefore we do not lose its functionality.
As far as safety is concerned, the power bank operates at a voltage of only 5V (even if the maximum voltage sustainable by the human body is of 36V). Moreover, the heating system switches off automatically after three hours to avoid having the power bank discharged in case of forgetfulness. We can however turn it back on shortly after pressing the buttons.
In addition to the down jacket with more than the 90% of goose feathers that is the main garment, the crowdfunding product also includes a functional jacket that can be used either alone or on top of the duvet itself. This uses excellent materials that make it windproof and waterproof up to the 4-5 grade.
Finally, Cottonsmith's down jacket has been tested to work at a minimum temperature of 120 degrees Celsius. To be precise, the heating system was able to maintain a temperature of 47 degrees for at least two minutes. Obviously this is an experimental test since these temperatures cannot be reached naturally on our planet.
The Cottonsmith Smart Down Jacket is now on sale in China at the 599 Yuan figure, on the 76 euros at current exchange rates.
We complete the winter kit with another really interesting gadget this time produced by the 17PIN brand, the Warm Star Cup.
The 17PIN Warm Star Cup thermos adopts a production process with enamel painting, after 64 passages and two high-temperature firings, the enamel layer sinters with stainless steel becoming one whole. Thanks to this process, the essence of the drink is extracted under constant temperature and no nutrients are lost, so we will have a more tasty and healthy drink.
At the same time, the particular internal design (patented) allows the thermos to understand the temperature that will then be shown in the display in the lid. To start the display and then the thermometer, simply touch the top of the thermos with your hand or rotate it quickly. The temperature will appear instantly, allowing us to understand if we can drink the drink without burning ourselves.
Finally, as regards the internal walls, we have a double layer of 304 stainless steel with vacuum that will keep the temperature as much as possible.
The 17PIN Warm Star Cup is now in crowdfunding at 69 Yuan, around 9 euros. We remind you that these are prices dedicated to the Chinese market that will see price increases once they are sold by third-party stores.
