3 of the 10 best-selling phones in the world are Redmi-branded

Another quarter has ended and the end of this horrendous 2020 is approaching, and it is therefore time to take stock and rankings. Fortunately, reports are made available to us by specialized companies such as Canalys which once again provides us with a clear picture of market trends in the technology sector, especially that of smartphones, indeed to be more precise, the latest analysis by the research company has highlighted the 10 best-selling smartphones in the world. Samsung dominates the ranking by number of devices, but Xiaomi is not far behind, thanks to the Redmi sub brand.

Once again the first place in the standings is held by Apple with its iPhone 11, which therefore positions itself as the leader of this Q3 2020, but the brand of the bitten apple also wins the second position with the small iPhone SE. Oh yes, the "compact" that even the most enthusiastic fanboys have misjudged.

In the third, fourth and fifth place we find Samsung's smartphones, and these are not top of the range but rather of the mid-range, or Galaxy A21S, Galaxy A11 and Galaxy A51, in a sense the true rivals of the devices that Xiaomi puts on market, which in reality does not see any of its devices in the ranking, but it is thanks to Redmi that its name echoes among the Olympus of the greats.

In fact we find in sixth, seventh and ninth position the Redmi Note9 followed by Redmi 9 and finally Redmi 9A, which therefore complete the ranking together with the Galaxy A31 and Galaxy A01 Core from Samsung. So medium-low range but with good performance, although it should be emphasized that the "first" in the standings on behalf of Redmi, or the Note 9 has lately suffered the wrath of users due to the various bugs that have undermined the user experience general.

In any case, Redmi has shown not only that it can compete in terms of sales with hyper-famous brands, but that this is the path that the Asian brand must continue to follow. In fact, the strategy undertaken with Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10T is perhaps not the one expected, out of philosophy due to prices defined too high, thus losing appeal in customers loyal to the brand for years.
