The Huami conference held today in Beijing seemed to have ended with the presentation of theAmazfit GTS e Amazfit Sports Watch 3, But it was not so. The Chinese wearable manufacturer has indeed unveiled the next Amazfit X, a smartwatch of the future that we could touch with first hand in the first half of the 2020.
The Amazfit X is currently a concept watch, but this does not mean that it will not arrive on the market, as some of you will remember, in fact, even the original Xiaomi Mi MIX was born as a concept phone, then become one of the brand's most beloved devices. Amazfit X: Huami reveals the smartwatch concept of the future
Let's start from the strength of the smartwatch: the display. The Amazfit X will have a curved (and flexible) 2,07 inch diagonal screen. The display was created by Huami itself and cost millions of dollars in research and development. The layer of glass that covers the screen has then a curvature of 92 degrees or 12,5 millimeters, this means that we have a distance of 12,5mm from the highest point to the lowest point (see photo above). This curvature was achieved thanks to an 3D hot bending process at a temperature of 700 degrees Celsius, repeated six times.
The moon shape allows for a display with a wider area while keeping the smartwatch compact. Huami has calculated that the screen is the 244% larger than similar-sized wearables. Finally the screen is fairly defined with a PPI (Pixel per inch) ratio of 326%, with accurate 100% NTSC colors and easy to read even outside with 430 nit brightness.
In addition to the curved screen, which in the 2019 is perhaps no longer something astonishing, Huami surprises us instead with a cutting-edge interior design. The smartwatch is in fact divided internally into three parts, each of which has a portion of the motherboard (image above). Thanks to this technology, the thickness of the device is reduced since an internal non-curved area is not required which would increase its size.
Now you're wondering: and the battery? Well, this is also curved and positioned just above the different motherboards. The battery has a capacity of 220mAh and according to the manufacturer it will be able to power the smartwatch for around 7 days.
As for the rest of the components, the Amazfit X will have an all-metal body with hidden electronic buttons to maintain a clean look.
Finally, the price was not disclosed (of course) and we do not have a certain release date. But what we can say is that knowing how many resources Huami has spent to make it happen will certainly not be an economic option.
