Nothing, the startup founded by former OnePlus CEO Carl Pei, has announced that its third smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2nd), will be launched soon. The new mid-range device promises to offer excellent performance, a quality camera and smooth, customizable software.
Nothing Phone (2a) anticipated: it will be the brand's new mid-range
The Nothing Phone (2a) is the successor to the Nothing Phone (1), the company's first smartphone, which received positive reviews from critics and the public. Nothing co-founder and chief marketing officer Akis Evangelidis said the Phone (2a) is a “clear improvement compared to the Phone (1) on every single front".
The Phone (2a) has how code name Aerodactyl, in homage to the famous prehistoric Pokémon. The design of the device is still shrouded in mystery, but it is assumed that it incorporates some of the most popular elements of the Telephone (2), Nothing's second smartphone, which will debut at the end of 2023.
Among the technical characteristics of the Phone (2a), the 6,7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 7200 processor, paired with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. The photographic sector consists of one 50MP dual rear camera, while the battery should guarantee excellent autonomy.
The Phone (2a) will be based on the operating system NothingOS, a modified version of Android 14, which will offer a simple and intuitive interface, with several customization options. Nothing has also promised to release regular and security updates for its smartphone.
The price of the Phone (2a) has not yet been revealed, but it is rumored to be around 400 euros, depending on the market. The launch of the device in India has been confirmed by Nothing India on x.com, but there has been no announcement yet. The Phone (2a) is also expected to arrive in other countries, including Italy, in the coming months.
The Nothing Phone (2a) presents itself as a valid alternative in the mid-range phone segment, capable of competing with models from other brands such as Xiaomi, Samsung and OnePlus.
