The popular smartphone maker and sub brand of OPPO, OnePlus, today announced that its new flagship model, OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, will be officially launched in August and will be the world's first smartphone equipped with a cooling system Tiangong aerospace grade.

The heat dissipation area refers to the VC (vapor chamber) module which covers most of the internal surface of the smartphone. OnePlus claims that its VC module, called Tiangong Cooling VC, has an area of 9140 mm², which is more than double the mainstream specification of a single-chip VC in the industry. It is said to be the largest cooling VC in the industry and can absorb a large amount of heat generated by the processor and other components.
Heat dissipating materials refer to the thermally conductive materials that transfer heat from the VC module to the spatial structure. OnePlus claims to have used two types of aerospace-grade, next-generation thermally conductive materials: diamond thermal gel and superconducting thermal graphite. Diamond heat-conducting gel has 60% increased thermal conductivity compared to the previous generation, while superconducting thermal graphite has 41% increased thermal conductivity compared to the heat dissipating graphite commonly used in industry. These materials allow heat to be transferred quickly and efficiently from the VC module to the spatial structure.
The spatial structure refers to the internal structure of the smartphone which forms an integrated dual-cycle cooling system. The system uses a gas-liquid jacket structure that doubles the volume of working water and circulation jacket compared to traditional systems. This allows the working water to absorb more heat and the gas-liquid to circulate faster. In addition, the system uses a dual thermal zone structure that multiplies the contact area of the heat source and increases the equivalent heat dissipation cycle rate by 50%. Finally, the system uses an imitation space rocket motor nozzle structure that adopts a double-cycle design and a Laval air channel. This raises the heat dissipation efficiency to space level and the thermal conductivity to four times that of traditional VC in the industry.
OnePlus claims that the Tiangong cooling system can significantly reduce the smartphone's temperature in high-load scenarios, such as playing heavy games or multitasking applications. According to the official tests conducted by OnePlus, Tiangong Cooling VC is ahead of its competitors by 8,5°C to 14,4°C in 6,5W and 8W tests for 1 minute and 3 minutes. This means that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro can deliver a high and stable performance without overheating or slowing down.
