After weeks of leaks and rumors, today finally arrives the long-awaited mid-range smartphone with a stock version of Android, the Xiaomi Mi A3. The new Android One device returns to the European market a poco more than a year from the presentation of the much appreciated Xiaomi Mi A2.
In fact, the Mi A3 follows in the footsteps of the Mi A2 as it too is a rebranding of a smartphone already announced in China under another name, in this case the Xiaomi CC9e. The substantial difference between the two devices will therefore be the operating system, with the Xiaomi Mi A3 leaving the MIUI in favor of Android 9.0 Pie stock. But in any case let's find out all the main specifications!
Xiaomi Mi A3 presented with Snapdragon 665 and memory expansion
Let's start with the display, a great step forward for the mid-range device that now "wins" an AMOLED type screen with a diagonal of 6,088 inches, so quite compact. On the other hand, to keep production costs down, Xiaomi had to reduce the resolution to just 1520 x 720 pixels (HD +). Will you notice it or not? We will find out during our review. That said, we still have a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 type glass cover that is resistant to scratches and bumps, as well as a fingerprint sensor below the screen.
Inside the Xiaomi Mi A3 we obviously find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor with a maximum frequency of 2,0Ghz. The CPU is one of the most modern on the market and has been manufactured with 11 nanometer technology, this means that it will not only perform better than the Snapdragon 660 we had on the Mi A2, but also less energy. The processor is then supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal memory, this time expandable up to 256GB via microSD.
The strong point of the new smartphone is undoubtedly the front camera. In fact, on the Mi A3 we find an 32MP sensor with 4 super pixel technology in 1 and a focal aperture of f / 2.0. On the back instead we have the usual Sony 48MP camera with a wide focal length of f / 1,79, coupled with a secondary 8MP sensor with ultra wide angle lens and a third depth sensor from 2MP.
On the A3 Mi we find another important upgrade compared to the predecessor: the battery. The one from 3000mAh of the Mi A2 has in fact been replaced with one from 4030mAh, as for the Redmi series. So we can expect excellent autonomy even on the new Android one device.
As for the colors, the smartphone will be available in "Not Just Blue" (blue), "More Than White" (white) and "Kind of Gray" (gray). Finally, there is no lack of support for the most popular 4G band, B20 (TDD LTE: B38 / 40 FDD LTE: B1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 7 / 8 / 20 / 28).
The Xiaomi Mi A3 has been made official in Spain where it will go on sale starting from the 24 July with a starting price of 249 € for the version with 64GB of internal memory, while the one with 128GB of storage will cost 279 €. In Italy the presentation was scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday 18 July.
